Using the Pump - More Features

Touch Bolus

The Touch Bolus feature allows you to bypass the menu

when delivering a meal bolus. It is called the Touch

Bolus since you can program and deliver a bolus using

sound or vibrations, without having to look at the

pump’s screen. The Touch Bolus button, on the side of

the pump, is pressed to activate and use Touch Bolus.

All of your programmed meal bolus settings (bolus type

[Grams - Carb or Units - Insulin], maximum bolus and

increment setting - see Meal Bolus in Using the Pump -

Basics starting on page 44) will be used in Touch Bolus

as well.

NOTE: Because Touch Bolus uses sound or vibration

to count the size of a bolus, you are limited to a

bolus of 24 increments (i.e., press once to activate, 24

presses maximum for bolus size, press and hold to

deliver). If you want to deliver a very large bolus (which

would require more than 24 presses), you must use the

Meal Bolus menu to program and deliver the bolus.
