Using the Pump - Basics

3. Fill the tubing

Filling forces insulin from the cartridge into the infusion

set tubing and pushes air out of the tubing. Filling is

complete when you see insulin come out of the end of

the tubing and all air is removed. The amount of insulin

used to fill the tubing is not counted as part of your

daily totals.

Warning: Never use Fill tubing when the infusion

set is connected to your body, or you could deliver

an unintended bolus.

Tubing begins filling. When tubing is filled (insulin drips from

end of tubing; amount listed in instructions supplied with

infusion set), press and hold Stop (filling automatically stops at

30u; if you need more than 30u, press Start again).
